Our Mission & Vision

Our mission

“Show God’s love, tell others about Jesus and teach them to love and follow Him”

The Lord Jesus Christ commanded His followers to Love God and to Love People!

Matt. 22:37-38).

This is called the Great Commandment.

The Lord Jesus Christ also commanded His church “Make disciples of the nations” & we are to go “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth” (Matt. 28:19; Acts 1:8).

This is called the Great Commission.

Our Vision

At IBC Munich, people are changed by God’s love to follow Jesus and are equipped to transform our community for Christ.

Goals

Intentionality as witnesses

We must always have an answer to those who are hopeless, giving them the reason for our hope (1 Peter 3:15).

Clarity with the Gospel

We must always give a clear/accurate presentation of the Good News, (Gospel), to others in order that they understand their need for Jesus.

Encouragement to new believers

We must quickly become a source of encouragement to new believers who often fall by the wayside in the local church due to neglect. We must help them in their next steps following their conversion.

Development of leaders

We must develop the following generations of believers by investing in them through mentorship and ministry opportunities.

Teach multiplication

We must develop leaders in such a way they multiply themselves to follow a healthy pattern of disciple-making.

GOOD NEWS!

The Bible teaches that all people have sinned and we fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). This means that we all sin by nature and choice. Because God is Holy, we cannot come into His presence on our own. But God did something about it!

God has not left us without Hope! There’s a plan, the plan of salvation is Jesus!

God had a plan in place for Adam and Eve and God had a plan in place for us: Jesus! God is in the redemption business! Those who are in Christ are not condemned, “Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 8:1). In Christ, All who follow Him live! “So also in Christ, all will be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22). The wages of sin is death, “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

The Remedy for our Sin: Jesus Christ!

Since Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life,” we can only know the Father through a relationship with the Son (John 14:6). So, we exist in order to have a personal relationship with God through Christ and to share this Good News (Gospel) with others. John said, to as many as “received Him,” and “believed in His name,” He gave the “right to become the children of God” (John 1:12). So, we are God’s child and have been “saved by grace through faith,” (Ephesians 2:8), and adopted into His family, therefore, we must live as responsible sons and daughters of the King and as heirs to His kingdom!

“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved” (Romans 10:9-10, ESV).

We hear the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus, His death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead and we believe in our heart (The result: Justification, God declares us not guilty!) and we declare our faith in Christ, that He is Lord (He is our Master) (The result: salvation, Regeneration!).

A public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ is important

Jesus, and later the disciples of Jesus called people to identify themselves publicly as His followers, even though it often led to persecution (Earnest E. Mosley, Basics for Baptists, p. 34). Jesus said, “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven” (Matt. 10:32-33). One way we identify with Jesus Christ is through baptism in water which is an ordinance (command) from the Lord and is a symbol of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

"All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name."

Psalm 86:9, NIV
